India’s sub-20K smartphone market is witnessing fierce competition, with brands like iQOO, Realme, Lava, Redmi, and Poco all vying for attention. Now, it’s Vivo’s turn to step up to the plate with the Vivo T3 5G. This phone, which costs ₹19,999, is vying to be the greatest phone in India under ₹20,000. Let’s discuss our initial thoughts on the Vivo T3 5G.
In this blog:
Design and Build Quality
The Vivo T3 5G replaces the waterdrop notch from its predecessor, the T2 5G, with a modern punch-hole camera cutout. Available in Cosmic Blue and Crystal Flake color options, our review unit came in the latter. The back panel of the Crystal Flake model has a distinct diamond pattern and is textured like crystal. Its reflective surface gives it a fashionable touch. The matte finish on the rear panel resists fingerprints and smudges, although the glossy camera island is more prone to marks.
Unlike the more premium Vivo V30 5G, the T3 5G boasts a flat design, integrating the camera island into the back panel. Slim and lightweight, it measures 7.95mm in thickness and weighs 188 grams. The phone provides a firm grip and is pleasant to operate with one hand. For protection, Vivo has included an IP54 rating, making the T3 5G resistant to dust and splashes of water. Standard button placement, including the power and volume buttons on the right, and a USB Type-C port, SIM tray, and speaker grille on the bottom, ensures convenience.
Cameras
On the back of the Vivo T3 5G, you’ll find dual rear cameras. The primary camera features a 50 MP Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS and an f/1.79 aperture. Accompanying it is a 2 MP bokeh lens with an f/2.4 aperture. Although we haven’t done a lot of testing on the camera performance yet, this configuration should yield respectable results.
Performance
Under the hood, the Vivo T3 5G packs a punch. It boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset paired with 12 GB of RAM. This combination guarantees quick performance and seamless multitasking. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or handling productivity tasks, the T3 5G keeps up admirably.
Final Thoughts
The Vivo T3 5G enters a competitive segment, and it’s clear that Vivo is aiming high. The T3 5G looks great, performs admirably, and has a well-thought-out camera arrangement that makes it a viable contender. That said, we will not make a decision until we have thoroughly inspected the device. Watch this space for our in-depth assessment!
